Why Give to the Schulich Heart Program?

At Sunnybrook’s Schulich Heart Program, we treat the most complex heart and vascular diseases, leveraging innovation through our unparalleled preclinical laboratory, research program, and clinical trials.

We are one of the only heart centres in Canada that offers patients access to the latest technology and treatment advances.

Donor support is crucial – it means we do more than make new discoveries – we scale our breakthroughs, attracting government investment and gaining global recognition. Through innovative treatments, device development, and commercialization, we influence the adoption of new health policies at both the provincial and national levels.

Program Fundraising Priorities

Donor contributions will support vital initiatives in capital projects, education, research, and patient care, advancing the most urgent priorities of the Schulich Heart Program. Together, we can shape the future of heart health and personalized care.

The Schulich Heart Program is internationally recognized for training the next generation of experts in cardiac and vascular care through its comprehensive Fellowship Program. Fellowships like the Caryl and Walter Sinclair IDEA Fellowship offer specialized training in subspecialties unique to Sunnybrook, with a strong emphasis on inclusion, diversity, equity, and access. In 2024, the IDEA Fellowship welcomed its first two fellows, who are focusing on interventional and structural heart disease management at Ontario’s largest minimally invasive structural heart program.
